AUC Chairperson extends New Years wish to Ethiopians

Addis Ababa, September 11, 2023 (FBC) – The African Union Commission (AUC) Chairperson Moussa Faki Mahamat has extended his best wishes of New Year to Ethiopian people.

Ethiopia is a few hours away from welcoming its 2016 New Year. The nation has its own special calendar which consists of 12 months of 30 days and a 5-days long Pagumen month, a transitional short month between the old and the New Year.

Accordingly, the Chairperson of the African Union Commission, Moussa Faki Mahamat has extended his best wishes of New Year to Ethiopian people.

In a message published on X (formerly called Twitter), he wished for a blessed new year full of peace and prosperity to Ethiopians.

“Melkam Addis Amet! With my warmest wishes for a blessed new year full of peace and prosperity to all our sisters, brothers, colleagues, and friends celebrating,’’ the Chairperson  tweeted.

Ambassadors, diplomats, heads of missions of various countries as well as multilateral and international organizations have been extending best wishes to Ethiopians on their New Year celebration.
