Addis Ababa, May 20, 2023 (FBC) – The African Union (AU) and the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) announce their full participation in the 76th Session of the World Health Assembly (WHA76).
Scheduled from 21st — 30th May 2023 in Geneva, the delegation will be led by Ambassador Minata Samate Cessouma, Commissioner for Health, Humanitarian Affairs and Social Development, AUC, and Jean Kaseya,Director General of Africa CDC.
The delegation will form part of the opening ceremony and key plenary sessions of WHA76, and also host several high-level Ministerial side-events on the sidelines of the assembly as follows:
The Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) is a continental autonomous Public Health agency of the African Union which supports Member States in their efforts to strengthen health systems and improve surveillance, emergency response, prevention and control of diseases.
