Addis Ababa, December 10, 2022 (FBC) – The 9th High-Level Seminar on Peace and Security in Africa, which took place in Oran, Algeria, from December 7–9, came to an end today on Friday afternoon.
The African Group (A3), countries functioning as non-permanent members of the UN Security Council on behalf of Africa, as well as the friendly countries of the Oran Summit, Ethiopia, Chad, Niger, and Angola, were recognized during the seminar’s concluding ceremony.
Ambassador Birtukan Ayano, State Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, received the award of recognition on behalf of the Ethiopian delegation.
The seminar concluded with the approval of protocols for improving and continuing consultations on African peace and security challenges.
Kenya, Ghana, and Gabon currently serve as non-permanent members of the UN Security Council, representing Africa. Mozambique will take over for Kenya, which will finish its mandate in January 2023, as per MFA Ethiopia.
