Addis Ababa, November 29, 2022 (FBC) – Armenia vowed enhanced cooperation with Ethiopia in promoting peace, democracy and social development sectors.
Ambassador of Armenia to Ethiopia, Artem Aznauria had a discussion with Foreign Affairs and Peace Standing Committee at the House of Peoples Representatives on ways of bolstering ties between the two countries.
Ambassador Artem Aznauria appreciated the determination Ethiopia has shown to resolve the conflict in the northern part of the country through peaceful mechanism.
The Ambassador expressed commitment of Armenia to work together with Ethiopia in fostering peace, democracy and social development spheres. He also pledged commitment to strengthen the historical people to people ties between Ethiopia and Armenia.
A member of the Armenian parliament and Ethiopia-Armenian Friendship Association, Alexei Sandikov, underscored need to forge parliamentary cooperation between the two countries to transform the longstanding and historical relationship between the countries that traces back to the 18th century.
Chairperson of the Foreign Affairs and Peace Standing Committee of the Parliament, Dr. Negewo Dima favored the proposition put forward by the MP and expressed readiness to transform the historical ties between the two countries to a higher level.
Ethiopia hosted hundreds of Armenians who fled their country during the World War II.
