Addis Ababa, June 25, 2021 (FBC) – The annual Summer Voluntary Service Program kicked off in the capital, Addis Ababa in the presence of senior government officials including City’s Deputy Mayor Adanech Abiebie, among others.
Religious leaders, public figures and hundreds of volunteers have also attended the launching ceremony.
Besides, volunteer medical professionals, legal experts, architects, teachers and coordinators of road traffic were present at the opening session. This year’s summer volunteer service program commenced with renovation of 43 houses of elderly segments of the society.
It is stated on the occasion that 150,000 members of the community will benefit from the already started program set to involve more than 2 Million Volunteers. City also announces a plan to bring 100 waifs to orphanage centers as per the program.
