Addis Ababa, December 12, 2023 (FBC) – An Ethiopian Business and Investment Forum held in Doha, Qatar to consolidate the economic foundation of Ethio-Qatari ties with a focus on enhancing cooperation on horticulture, agri-business and tourism.
The forum which was organized by the Ethiopian Embassy to the State of Qatar was attended by State Minister for Foreign Affairs Ambassador Mesganu Arga, State Minister for Agriculture, Dr. Sofia Kassa, State Minister for Trade and Regional Integration, Kassahun Goffe, Commissioner for Ethiopian Investment Commission, Lelise Neme, Ethiopian Ambassador to Qatar, Ambassador Feyisel Aliyi, and Doha Expo Commissioner General, Ambassador Bader bin Omar Al Dafa, and Qatari enterprises as well as Ethiopian Community residing in Doha.
Opening the forum, Ambassador Mesganu said Ethiopia welcomes Qatari enterprises to invest and take advantage of its untapped economic potential in agricultural sector.
The Doha International Horticulture Expo is an important platform, presenting a new prospect and vitality for Ethiopian horticulture commodities to enter Qatari market.
Ethiopia is making good use of this world’s premium expo showcasing its fruits, flowers, coffee and tourist attractions to Qatari and global public, according to Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Ethiopian Pavilion which was officially opened by State Minster Ambassador Mesganu Arga is now exhibiting sustainable, harmonious and eco-friendly horticulture, produced all year round under the theme: “13 Months of Green Production”
Ambassador Feyisel Aliyi, speaking at the forum, stressed the need to tap and expand mutually beneficial cooperation in fields such as agro-processing, aviation, tourism and energy, which will lead to more Ethiopian products entering Qatari market while encouraging Qatari enterprises to invest in Ethiopia.
