Addis Ababa, July 26, 2023 (FBC) – The Amhara Region chief administrator Yalkal Kefale today held a discussion with the representative of the World Food Program, Chris Nichol.
In their discussion, they highlighted the activities carried out by WFP and the activities to be implemented in the future for the citizens who need humanitarian support in various areas of the Amhara region, the Amhara Region Presidential Office stated.
Yilkal said that the World Food Program is primarily providing humanitarian support to the citizens who need help in the region and appreciated WFP’s efforts.
He further said that the regional government will work in cooperation to create a favorable environment for the humanitarian organizations that are active in supporting the citizens seeking humanitarian assistance.
Pointing out that there are still many citizens who need relief assistance, the regional administrator called on other humanitarian organizations to emulate WFP and others in responding to humanitarian needs.
Chris Nicol, representative and country director of World Food Program in Ethiopia, said that his organization has been providing humanitarian aid to citizens who need support.
In the future, WFP will continue to strengthen the humanitarian support in the region.
