Addis Ababa, October 22, 2021 (FBC) – President of the Amhara Regional State, Yilkal Kefale (PhD) has discussed with Ambassador of the U.S. to Ethiopia, Geeta Pasi on recent developments in the region in the light of terrorist TPLF’s incursion.
Kefale told the Ambassador that horrific attacks committed by the terrorist group in the region are causing catastrophic situations in the regional state.
The terrorist group has caused loss of human lives and property damage in several parts of the region, he said.
During the discussion held in Bahir Dar City, the President called on the international community to comprehend the atrocities being committed by TPLF and support the Ethiopian government in thwarting the threats posed by the group against the nation.
According to the government, more than half a million people in the region are in need of humanitarian assistance as hundreds of thousands fled homes due TPLF attacks. Dessie, a city located in the north eastern part of the region is now highly crowded with IDPs.
