Addis Ababa, August 29, 2022 (FBC) – Adem Muhammad, the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia’s Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Turkiye, met with Ambassador Elif ÇOMOĞLU, the Turkiye Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Director General of Eastern and Southern African Affairs, to discuss the current state of affairs in Ethiopia.
Ambassador Adem described the specific measures taken by the Ethiopian government to bring about long-lasting peace in the country.
However, he said the TPLF terrorist group violated the peace process by obstructing the delivery of humanitarian aid, stealing fuel and other supplies intended for humanitarian purposes, and launching an open offensive in the Afar and Amhara regional states. He went into further detail about the damage.
Ambassador Elif thanked the Ethiopian Ambassador for his timely presentation, remarked that Ethiopia and the Republic of Turkiye have long been friends, and said that it’s the Turkish government’s desire to see a united Ethiopia.
The discussion was then expanded upon by bringing up additional bilateral concerns between the two nations.
