Addis Ababa, December 1, 2020 (FBC) – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ethiopia to Algeria Nebiat Getachew received and held discussions with International Organization for Migration’s (IOM) Chief of Mission in Algeria, Paolo Caputo and Project Head, Flavia Giordani on various issues including support to Ethiopian migrants and law enforcement measures underway in Tigray.
On the occasion, Ambassador Nebiat extended gratitude to IOM for facilitating safe return of Ethiopian Migrants who migrated to Algeria from Middle East countries to their homeland.
Recalling his working tenure in Ethiopia as Head of Mission in Addis Ababa, IOM’s chief of Mission to Algeria, Paolo Caputo, to his part, reaffirmed commitment of his organization to protect dignity and lives of repatriates and tackle illicit human trafficking.
Ambassador Nebiat told the Chief of Mission that government’s law enforcement operation against the TPLF Junta is aimed to ensure rule of law in Tigray, adding that activities are underway to rehabilitate the people who are impacted by the operation.
