Addis Ababa, February 23, 2022 (FBC) – The Coordinating Committee for Economic Cooperation with African Countries (AFROCOM) has officially opened its office in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Member of the Russian Federation Council Committee on Economic Policy and Chairman of AFROCOM, Igor Morozov, Ambassador of Russia to Ethiopia, Evgeny Terekhin, Government officials, Foreign Affairs Head of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahdo Church, His Holiness Abune Aregawi (PhD), Secretary of Foreign Affairs Office of the Russian Orthodox Church Monk Priest Stefan Igumnov have attended the opening event.
On the occassion, Chairman of AFROCOM, Igor Morozov stated that the opening of the office will have a paramount signifiant paramount in creating a strong trade and economic partnership between Ethiopia and Russia.
Senator Igor Morozov underlined that Russia is ready to collaborate with Ethiopia in trade, investment and multifaceted sectors of cooperation, highlighting the significance of the office in doing so.
Ambassador Evgeny Terekhin, for his part, said that the office will help transform the longstanding bilateral relationship between Ethiopia and Russia to a higher level particularly in the trade and economic spheres.
