African Defense Ministers praise Ethiopia’s robust peace and security framework

Addis Ababa, October 18, 2024 (FBC)—During a recent conference in Addis Ababa, African defense ministers and military attachés highlighted Ethiopia’s development of a strong and reliable peace and security framework, bolstered by technological advancements. The conference, themed “Africa: United in Peace, Strong in Security,” was hosted by Ethiopia.

The ministers and their teams toured several key facilities, including the Ethiopian Air Force, Defense Engineering Industry Corporation, Information Network Security Administration (INSA), Artificial Intelligence Institute, Ethiopian Federal Police, and the National Intelligence and Security Service (NISS). They affirmed that Ethiopia’s defense and security institutions stand as a source of pride for Africa, showcasing a solid foundational structure.

Ethiopia’s Minister of Defense, Aisha Mohamed, emphasized the country’s commitment to sharing its security and technological expertise with fellow African nations. In turn, the visiting defense ministers expressed eagerness to collaborate with Ethiopia, commending its impressive institution-building efforts and the current status of its security landscape.
