Addis Ababa, February 22, 2020 (FBC) –Deputy Mayor of Addis Ababa city Engineer Takele Uma has laid foundation stone for a traffic control centre to be built with 835 million birr.
The construction of the state-of-the-art centre will be undertaken by China Communication Construction Company (CCCC) is scheduled to be completed within 18 months.
The centre will have offices, a traffic control room, information processing and crime control units as well as accident registration offices.
It will provide information on traffic conditions, change duration of traffic lights depending on flow of traffic and identify traffic violation.
With four underground floors, the centre will contribute its share for efforts of the administration to ensure the smooth flow of traffic on roads.
According to Engineer Takele, the administration will soon open toll routes in selected parts of the city.
