Addis Ababa, March 14, 2024 (FBC) – The Addis Ababa City Administration has inaugurated a state of the art women rehabilation and skills development center in the presence of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD), First Lady Zinash Tayachew, Mayor Adanech Abiebie, among others.
The state of the art project lies on 10 ha of land is located has been built in Akaki Kaliti Sub City with facilities to provide a wide range of services to rehabilitate livelihoods and transform skills of vulnerable women in the city and the country at large.
The center is expected to take in 10,000 impoverished women at a time and it comprises skill development hubs, psychological consultancy and mental health service facilities, training centers and recreational quarters.
The center is also equipped with facilities significant to provide beneficiary women with the necessary skills in fields of babysitting, catering, hairdressing, electricity, pottery, woodwork and tailoring.
In his remarks at the inaugural ceremony, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD), stated that the center will have a paramount significant in mending national fractures by transforming livelihoods of vulnerable women, building their skills thereby enabling them to contribute to the efforts to realize prosperity of the nation.
