Addis Ababa, May 15, 2020 (FBC) – Addis Ababa city administration has raised half a billion Birr involving participation of institutions and voluntary individuals over two months achieving against its plan set to collect 4 billion Birr for COVID 19 response.
City’s fundraising stride led by Deputy Mayor Takelle Umma entails contribution of public and private organizations, religious institutions and public figures, Mayor’s office Communication and Information Director, Nesredin Mohammed said.
The city has set up its own fundraising committee which is working to generate resources for the support of vulnerable segments of the society susceptible the impacts posed by the pandemic.
The long standing culture of mutual cooperation among Ethiopians has been manifested in the fund raising paces underway in the capital, Mohammed said.
