Addis Ababa, February 10, 2022 (FBC) – While presenting the last half year job performance report of the City Administration to members of the Council, the Mayor of Addis Ababa, Adanech Abiebie stated that the City has downsized number of public institutions from 71 to 46 based on restructuring works that have been undertaken this year.
Women participation in the leadership role has reached 32 percent, the Mayor said, adding that the City Council is now a record 49 percent female.
The City Administration has created a 3.7 billion birr market link for enterprises operating in the capital during the past six months.
Adanech added that the 4.6 billion birr Adwa Zero Km Museum Project has reached 74.5pct whereas the construction of the parking at the Grand Palace surpassed 85pct.
To address financial shortfall among consumers cooperatives in the capital, the City Administration has distributed 500 million birr revolving fund to the enterprises and helped mitigate social and economic burden among the community, the Mayor noted.
She also indicated that activities are well underway to enable close to 110,000 residents benefit from ongoing Productive Safety Net Program, adding that the city has collected 31 billion birr surpassing the plan by 18.5pct during the first half of the budget year.
