Addis Ababa, May 11, 2023 (FBC) – The City of Addis Ababa and the City of Johannesburg have signed an Action Plan to collaborate on various areas of mutual interest.
The Action Plan follows a Memorandum of Understanding that was signed in 2003 between the two cities.
Under the new Action Plan, the two cities will collaborate on a range of initiatives, such as affordable housing, smart city development, public parks, and green area management including training and exchanges in the field of ICT, traffic management, infrastructure development and management, urban agriculture practices, city beautification and management and public transport management and operations.
It is stated that to facilitate the collaboration, representatives from both cities, technical experts, and the Embassy of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia in Pretoria have been discussing on identifying potential areas of cooperation and the implementation virtually.
