Addis Ababa, May 15, 2021 (FBC) – Addis Ababa City has today inaugurated a state of the art bust terminal at Merkato area. The bust terminal has two floors with their exit and entrance facilities each and accommodates 20 buses at a time.
Deputy Mayor of Addis Ababa, Adanech Abiebie and other senior officials have attended the inaugural ceremony.
It is state on the inaugural ceremony that the terminal would help dispatch Anbessa city buses to 35 directions, and Sheger Mass Transport buses to 17 service lines to various parts of the metropolis and the environs.
According to Addis Ababa City Transport Bureau, the terminal provides services to 80,000 passengers on a daily basis. Located in Merkato area, the new terminal will accommodate a number of facilities, including cafes, ticket offices and shops.
In a bid to enhance its mass transport operations, Addis Abeba has built four state of the art bus terminals.
