Addis Ababa, December 30, 2020 (FBC) – Addis Ababa Environmental Protection and Green Development Commission has today deployed 554 youths for environmental pollution control works.
Commissioner of the Addis Ababa Environmental Protection and Green Development Commission, Sisay Getachew they youths who have been deployed received trainings and got directives how to tackle the alarming risk of environmental pollution in the capital.
The training budget that amounted for 30 Million Birr has been appropriated by the Addis Ababa City Administration, he explained.
Youths who are tasked to control effects of environmental hazards are expected to investigate factors related to noise pollution, liquid and solid waste effluences, among others and bring recommendations to address the problems accordingly, Sisay said.
According to the Commissioner, the youths are to be organized under enterprises and deployed to their respective Woredas in the capital.
The City Administration is planned to deploy addition youths in to environmental pollution control activities after scaling up best practices from the already started endeavor in the sector.
