Addis Ababa, May 10, 2022 (FBC) – Addis Ababa City Administration has started renovating 3,400 shabby houses of low income residents this summer.
According to Mayor Adanech Abiebie, the renovation works will be carried out in line with the initiatives launched by the Prime Minister Office yesterday to transform livelihoods of disadvantaged segments of the community in the capital.
Hundreds of elders and people with disabilities who were leading lives in shabby residential places have so far received their refurbished houses from the City Administration.
Mayor Adanceh further called upon on all capable Ethiopians to actively participate in the renovation works.
Addis Ababa deploys thousands of youths every summer season for the annual voluntary service program that is aimed to foster social development activities in the health, education and environmental protection areas.
