Addis Ababa, Chuncheon cities agree to cooperate on urban dev’t

Addis Ababa, August 28, 2023 (FBC) – The cities of Addis Ababa and Republic of Korea’s Chuncheon have agreed to cooperate in education and training, urban development, smart cities, and land management.

Addis Ababa Mayor Adanech Abiebie and her delegation arrived in Chuncheon city, Republic of Korea today to renew the bilateral agreement between the two sister cities.

Upon arrival in the ROK, the delegation was welcomed by Chuncheon City Mayor, Yook Dong-han, and his cabinet.

“Today, we arrived in the Republic of Korea’s Chuncheon City to conduct an official visit and to reaffirm relationship between our sister cities,” Adanech wrote on her social media pages.

Both dignitaries held a discussion about improving the bilateral ties between the two cities and agreed to work together on issues related to urban development, smart cities, education and training, and land management.

It is learned that, Mayor Yook Dong-han and his delegation will travel to Addis Ababa at the invitation of the Ethiopian capital’s administration in order to develop intercultural ties, and mark the 19th anniversary of the sisterhood relationship between both cities.

Furthermore, teams of young people from Addis Ababa will also visit Chuncheon to exchange cultures and experiences.
