Addis Ababa, January 9, 2024 (FBC) – Grand Abrehot Library of Ethiopia, the largest library in the country, has joined the Silk Road International Library Alliance, Silk Road Digital Library confirmed.
The Grand Abrehot Library is a public library stationed in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. It was officially opened in January 2022 in a ceremony presided over by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD) who initiated the project. Built at a cost of over 1.1 billion Birr, and at a size of 19,000 square meters, it is the largest library in Ethiopia.
Rising majestically from the bustling streets of Addis Ababa, the Grand Abrehot Library stands as a beacon of learning and enlightenment, the Alliance acknowledged. This giant library is a vibrant tapestry woven from knowledge, community, and innovation.
By joining the Silk Road International Library Alliance (SRILA), Abrehot Library has become the Alliance’s 4314 member institution.
