Addis Ababa, December 29, 2022 (FBC) – A Monitoring Verification and Compliance mission tasked to monitor, verify and enforce the peace agreement signed between the federal government of Ethiopia and TPLF has been established under the aegis of the African Union.
The team assigned to is to supervise, verify and enforces the peace agreement under the African Union has three members and will monitor the implementation of both the civil and military agreement according to the deal.
Maj.-Gen Radina Stephen from Kenya, Colonel Rufai Umar Mairiga from Nigeria and Colonel Teffo Sekole from South Africa have been named as members of the mission team.
The members are said to have overseen handover of the federal facilities and installations to the Federal Police.
The head of the monitoring and verification team, Maj.-Gen Radina Stephen appreciated the handover as a testimony for the effectiveness of the implementation of the accord, pleding commitment to closely monitor and verify the process and notify the team on results accordingly.
