Addis Ababa, August 14, 2024 (FBC) – The National Green Legacy Initiative Technical Committee has announced that a one-day Green Legacy planting campaign will take place nationwide on August 23, 2024.
Mr. Getachew Gizaw, the Deputy Chairman of the Technical Committee, emphasized that the goal for this year’s Green Legacy planting cycle is to plant approximately 7.5 billion tree seedlings.
In addition to the aforementioned objective, next week’s “one-day Green Legacy planting” campaign is also part of the initiative to achieve this goal.
The chairperson has confirmed that sufficient preparations have been made for next week’s national campaign.
Planting sites, the types, and number of seedlings to be planted have already been identified and readied, as stated by Getachew.
Furthermore, he called on the community to enhance its participation in Green Legacy planting efforts.
