Addis Ababa, October 2, 2023 (FBC) – The 2nd Conference on Human Capital Development in Africa (CHCDA) has kicked off in Addis Ababa this moring under the theme of “The Future of Jobs, Employability & Skills in Africa”.
It is learned that the conference is scheduled to take place from today October 2 to 3, 2023.
It aims to build a self-sustaining ecosystem, future job opportunities, skill development and job creation in Ethiopia. It will also provide a platform for stakeholders from across Africa to network, share knowledge, and develop collaborative solutions to the most critical human capital development challenges facing the continent.
The event is organized by the Ministry of Labor and Skills, German Corporation for International Cooperation (GIZ – Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit), ATD-Ethiopia and The i-Capital Africa Institute.
It is said that in the conference, governmental, private and non-governmental institutions working on human resource development and job creation in Ethiopia and the continent will consult on issues that enhance and improve coordination in the sector.
Matching the demand and supply of skills in Africa, learning from best practices, school-to-work transition, volunteering, and internships, ensuring the quality of skills and jobs in the civil service sector, the role of the private sector in promoting employability and skills development, among other thematic topics, are expected to be discussed during the conference.
