Addis Ababa, June 6, 2023 (FBC) – As part of the Addis Ababa Smart City Project Ethio Telecom has signed an infrastructure construction agreement.
According to the agreement, Ethio Telecom will carry out the infrastructure development of Wide Area Network (SD-WAN Network) that will enable the city’s various offices and service providers to be easily connected to the main data center.
It is stated that the infrastructure development of Wide Area Network will improve the connection speed and deliver it to the city administration by connecting it with very high speed and quality optical fiber connection (Lamda Connectivity) ranging from 1 GB to 100 GB.
It is indicated that the projects being carried out by the city administration in cooperation with Ethio Telecom to realize the Addis Ababa Smart City program, which is suitable for Addis Ababa, which is the capital of Africa and the seat of many international institutions.
Through the project, the city administration will address the ever-increasing demand for technology and data security concerns, by connecting sub-cities and districts with technology to provide services that are mission critical and at the same time in real time.
It will contribute greatly to making the city a technology hub by providing it to the residents of the city, increasing the efficiency of performance and service delivery and modernizing the lifestyle of the residents, it is stated.
It is to be recall that Ethio Telecom has signed an agreement with the administration of Adama City to implement the Adama City Smart City Project.
