Ambassador Konjit awarded Japanese Foreign Minister’s Commendation for 2020
Addis Ababa, September 10, 2021 (FBC) – The Embassy of Japan in Ethiopia and Mission of Japan to the African Union on Friday held the conferment ceremony of the Japanese Foreign Minister’s Commendations for 2020 to Ambassador Kongit Sinegiorgis, Ambassador of Ethiopia, Chairperson of Foreign Relations Council of Ethiopia (MOFA), and the former Permanent Representative to the AU and UNECA, and Dr. YOKOZEKI Yumiko, Director of UNESCO International Institute for Capacity Building in Africa (IICBA).
During the ceremony, ITO Takako, Ambassador of Japan to Ethiopia, conveyed her warm congratulations to Dr. YOKOZEKI Yumiko and acknowledged her extensive experiences in assisting development of curricula and capacity buildings for teachers in Ethiopia and various other African countries.
HORIUCHI Toshihiko also warmly congratulated Ambassador Kongit Sinegiorgis and recognised her outstanding contributions to the promotion of mutual understanding between Japan and Africa through TICAD process.
Ambassador Kongit in her receiving remarks, appreciated the recognition from the Japanese Government. Dr. Yokozeki also in her receiving remarks, appreciated the award and further committed her future work in Ethiopia.
