Amb Teferi holds discussion with UK’s Minister for Africa
Addis Ababa, February 24, 2021 (FBC) – Ethiopian Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Teferi Melesse, held discussions with the UK’s Minister for Africa at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, James Duddridge.
The two exchanged views on issues of mutual interest, including the current situation in Ethiopia,
They also discussed the ongoing political and economic reform agenda, and the current status of the trilateral negotiations on the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD).
With regards to the situation in Tigray, Ambassador Teferi briefed Duddridge on the government’s efforts to grant humanitarian and international media access to the region, the need to combat disinformation campaigns, the importance of focusing on diligence to end the impunity in Tigray, and the way forward.
On the occasion, Ambassador Teferi assured Duddridge that human rights violations will be thoroughly investigated and that perpetrators will be brought to justice.
