Amb. Teferi confers with Int’l Sugar Organization Executive Director

Addis Ababa, August 16, 2023 (FBC) – Ethiopia’s Ambassador to the UK and Permanent Representative to International Maritime Organization (IMO), Teferi Melese met with Mr. Jose Orive, Executive Director of the International Sugar Organisation (ISO) today.

On the occasion, Ambassador Teferi briefed Mr. Jose on the various reform programs currently underway in Ethiopia.

He particularly mentioned the Ethiopian government’s efforts to privatize government-controlled enterprises, including several sugar factories.

The Ethiopian Embassy in London indicated that the two parties have agreed to work more closely to advance the ongoing privatization of Ethiopian sugar factories.

The International Sugar Organisation (ISO) is a London-based Intergovernmental Organisation devoted to ensuring enhanced international cooperation in connection with world sugar matters and related issues.
