Amb James Morgan calls horn countries to cooperate with Ethiopia for regional wellbeing

Addis Ababa, April 4, 2021 (FBC) – South Sudanese Ambassador to Ethiopia, James Pita Morgan called up on the Ethiopian government to preserve internal unity and work for regional integrity.

Ambassador Morgan underlined that Ethiopia has been aggressively working for social and economic regional integration in the horn of Africa adding that region’s future lies on endeavors of the country in several aspects.

The region is encountering many complicated circumstances and high demand of development, the ambassador noted, underlining Ethiopia’s role in maintaining cooperation among nations in the areas.

“As a leading power in IGAD for 10 years, Ethiopia has to take the lion’s share in bringing together regional countries for mutual benefit besides cementing its internal unity” Ambassador Pita Morgan stressed.

“Countries of the region and international organizations have to consider Ethiopia’s current situation and extend their support to help the country address the challenges it is facing” he underlined.

Ethiopia’s current problems might cause regional instability if they are not controlled through regional cooperation, he underlined.

Ethiopia is an ancient nation that has profound governance experience problem solving capacity so that it can resolve its problems by her own, he added, calling regional countries to urge competing political parts in Ethiopia to cooperate with the government for solution.

Ambassador Pita Morgan further said Ethiopia has registered successful achievements in regional and international peacekeeping missions including her decisive role in Korean war, said the ambassador appreciating country’s amicable and peaceful relationship with all regional countries.
