Amb Deriba briefs EU Ambassador on humanitarian assistance efforts in Tigray

Addis Ababa, January 22, 2021 (FBC) – Ethiopian Ambassador to Sweden, Deriba Kuma has made a courtesy call on the European Union (EU) Ambassador to Sweden, Christian Danielsson.

On the occasion, Ambassador Deriba briefed the EU Ambassador on the current situation in Ethiopia.

The Ambassador specifically addressed concerns repeatedly raised by EU regarding humanitarian service access in the Tigray region.

He further stressed that the fact that the Ethiopian Government is working closely with the relevant humanitarian agencies and UN partners to extend protection and humanitarian assistance to those in need.

The two ambassadors agreed on the paramount importance of continuing the engagement between the two long standing partners, Ethiopia and the EU, until an understanding is reached, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
