All stakeholders urged to play share in responding to violence against women, children

Addis Ababa, December 16, 2020 (FBC) – Office of the General Attorney in collaboration with UN Women Ethiopia organized a high level meeting of the National Coordination Committee on prevention and response to violence against women and children.

The national Coordination Committee is tasked to protect and respond to gender based violence against women and children and safeguard rights of children.

Attorney General Dr. Gedion Timothewos and other high ranking government officials who are members of the coordinating committee have participated in the meeting.

Director of Women, Children and Multisectoral Affairs Dirctorate at the office of General Attorney, Enqu Asnake has tabled presentation focused at activities to be undertaken to better prevent gender based violence against women and children.

She urged all stakeholders to contribute share to the efforts underway to protect the problem.

It is indicated on the meeting that parcipation of all citizens is much needed to rehabilitate victims so as to help them withstand complicated health, psychological, social and economic  burdens.
