African youths should be ambassadors of the continent in preventing climate change: Minister
Addis Ababa, November 8, 2022 (FBC) – African youth should act as ambassadors of the continent in preventing climate change, said the Ethiopian Minister of Women and Social Affairs, Ergoge Tesfaye.
The Model African Union Youth Summit, which was held for two days in Addis Ababa, with the theme of “Solving the problems of climate change in a sustainable manner by engaging youth in advocacy” has concluded on Tuesday.
Youths from different African countries participated in the conference.
The Minister of Women and Social Affairs, who made remarks at the closing of the conference, said that climate change is the current challenge of the world.
She said that Africans, in particular, are vulnerable to various natural disasters due to climate change.
From this point of view, the Minister mentioned that the problem should be countered by cooperation.
She emphasized that the participation of the youth has an important role.
