AFRAA, Ethiopian Airlines agree to cooperate to boost African Aviation
Addis Ababa, May 6, 2022 (FBC) – Secretary General of African Airlines Association (AFRAA), Abdérahmane Berthé met with Ethiopian Airlines Group CEO, Mesfin Tasew on Friday in line with the second edition of the AFRAA Member Airline CEOs Leadership Dialogues.
The two held talks aimed to enhance cooperation between Ethiopian Airlines and AFRAA.
Chairman of the Ethiopian Airlines Management Board, Girma Wake and other senior leadership representatives were also present during the deliberations.
“AFRAA is grateful for the opportunity to have the CEOs Leadership Dialogues session with Ethiopian Airlines which is timely as Mesfin Bekele takes over the leadership of Ethiopian Airlines,” says Berthé.
“We have had very fruitful deliberations at this meeting that will enhance the cooperation between Ethiopian Airlines and AFRAA as well as strategic actions to ensure that African aviation continues to grow and play a much more prominent role in the world.” Berthé added:
“Ethiopian Airlines is one of the 15 founding members of AFRAA in 1968. A continued collaboration between Ethiopian airlines and the Association is essential for the vision of AFRAA and our membership.” He added.
AFRAA membership of 44 airlines includes all the major intercontinental African operators. The Association members represent over 85 percent of total international traffic carried by African airlines.
