Adwa Victory served as beacon of light for black freedom struggle around the world: Dr. Julius W. Garvey

Addis Ababa, February 26, 2024 (FBC) – Dr. Julius W. Garvey, son of the renowned pan-Africanism movement leader Marcus Garvey, visited the Adwa Victory Memorial in Addis Ababa on Monday.

Dr. Julius W. Garvey expressed his great admiration at what he witnessed in the premises of the memorial.

During his visit, Dr. Julius W. Garvey noted that the resilience and the gallantry Ethiopians exhibited at the battle of Adwa inspired all the black people and others who were under the brunt of colonialism around the world

“All the black people worldwide are proud of the Victory of Adwa. I am lucky to be here and see the artifacts, statues and other works of art depicting the Victory of Adwa,” he said.

The Victory of Adwa is the source of Pride embedded deep within the hearts of all the blacks around the world, he added.
