Adwa Victory Memorial a symbol of pride, triumph for all Africans: Ambassadors
Addis Ababa, February 9, 2024 (FBC) – Ethiopian ambassadors across various countries emphasized that the Adwa Victory Memorial project is not only significant for Ethiopia, but it also represents a symbol of pride and triumph for the entire African continent.
The Adwa Victory Memorial Project, designed to showcase the grandeur and historical significance of Ethiopia, is set to be inaugurated soon. The museum is built in a manner befitting the nation’s greatness.
During a recent session at the House of Peoples Representatives, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed elaborated on the Adwa Victory Memorial, emphasizing that it was constructed to reflect Ethiopia’s magnificence.
City mayors and administrative leaders have observed the progress of the project and have attributed its success to the tireless efforts of numerous individuals.
According to Ethiopia’s ambassador to the U.S., Seleshi Bekele the Adwa victory has made Ethiopia a source of pride for the entire black community.
He expressed that the project not only preserves the heroic story of Adwa but also allows future generations to witness and appreciate it firsthand.
The ambassador further highlighted that the architectural artistry, construction quality, and inclusion of the history and images of all the heroes make the memorial a source of pride for both Ethiopians and Africans as a whole.
Additionally, he emphasized that the project’s contribution to Ethiopia’s economy through increased tourism cannot be overlooked.
Ethiopia’s Ambassador in Pakistan, Jamal Beker stated that Adwa’s victory empowered Ethiopia to combat oppression and serve as a voice for black people worldwide.
He emphasized how the heroes of Adwa showcased unity and protected their nation from invasion and pressure.
Thus, the Adwa Victory Memorial serves as inspiration for the current generation to strive for the elevation of Ethiopia and leave their mark on history, ENA reported.
The Adwa Victory Memorial, a monumental project located at the center of the capital Addis Ababa encompasses a museum, council, meeting halls, amphitheater, library, art gallery, exhibition center, and other facilities, all dedicated to honoring the heroes of the historic triumph.
