Addis Gets First Bank with Specialized Service

Addis Ababa, October 25, 2021 (FBC) – The first mortgage bank, Goh Betoch Bank, has officially started services in Addis Ababa. The bank provides loans for the construction of houses.

Inaugurating the bank, Lady Mayor of Addis Ababa, Adanech Abebie, says “we are happy to inaugurate the first bank in the country in the kind of service it provides.”

She adds that though many accomplishments her administration has to date in the housing sector much remains to be done, in carrying out tasks that help bridge the gap between demand and supply in houses in the city.

She as well as thanked Goh Bank for its donation of 1.5 million birr in upgrading houses of low income residents in the capital.

Adanech has also urged other financial institutions to engage in activities that improve the life of citizens.
