Addis Ababa’s Smart City Project officially launched
Addis Ababa, December 29, 2022 (FBC) – The long-awaited Smart City Project of Addis Ababa has been officially launched in the presence of Mayor Adanech Abiebie and other high level government officials.
In her remarks at the launching ceremony, the Mayor stated that the Smart City Project is mainly aimed to address the hassle the residents are facing during service delivery and transform image of metropolis.
The project is residents-centered and will have a paramount significance in realizing quality life for people living in the capital, Adanech explained.
Adanech said the project would help realize speedy and reliable services, ensure safety and security of residents and facilitate better understanding and collaboration between the government and dwellers. Project brings more new opportunities to the residents, she added.
The initiative is also vital to improve image of the capital by harnessing advanced technologies and infrastructures that will lead to smart living conditions, the Mayor outlined.
The Project is based on the digital transformation drive with a view to make Addis Ababa more livable and attractive, according to the Mayor.
