Addis Ababa University hosts Alumni Day with President Taye Atske-Selassie in Attendance

Addis Ababa, October 12, 2024 (FBC) – Addis Ababa University (AAU) is celebrating its Alumni Day at the Sidist Killo Campus, graced by the presence of the President of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Taye Atske-Selassie.

The ceremony has attracted a host of dignitaries, including ministers, high-ranking government officials, scholars, and notable alumni who have pursued their higher education at the university.

Attendees also include former students now in prominent positions and celebrated artists who stand out in their respective fields.

During the event, Acting President of Addis Ababa University, Samuel Kifle (PhD), remarked on the institution’s proud legacy of producing scholars over its 74-year history.

He emphasized that as an autonomous higher education institution, AAU is committed to upholding its reputation as a center of knowledge and is actively engaged in cross-generational education, research, and other scholarly endeavors.
