Addis Ababa University and Portuguese Foreign Affairs Ministry forge partnership for education diplomacy
Addis Ababa, October 22, 2024 (FBC) – Addis Ababa University has entered into a cooperative agreement with Foreign Affairs Ministry of Portugal aimed at enhancing cooperation on education diplomacy.
The signing ceremony was conducted by Dr. Samuel Kifle, President of Addis Ababa University, and Nuno Samopio, Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation.
This collaboration will facilitate the introduction of Portuguese language courses at Addis Ababa University, enriching the academic offerings at the institution. Portuguese is recognized as the fourth most widely spoken language in the world, and the agreement encompasses a broader spectrum of initiatives in both education and diplomatic relations.
According to university sources, Addis Ababa University currently offers a variety of international language courses, including French, both as short courses and within degree programs.
