Addis Ababa realizing successful results in all sectors: PM
Addis Ababa, June 25, 2020 (FBC) – Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed said Addis Ababa is realizing successful results in all development sectors fitting in to its name “A New Flower”
Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed has today inaugurated Sheger Bakery built in Addis Ababa along with Deputy Mayor of Addis Ababa and Officials of MIDROC Ethiopia, a factory capable of making 80, 000 loaves of bread at a time.
On the inaugural ceremony, the premier noted that Addis Ababa has registering has been registering tremendous results in all development fronts.
Dr. Abiy extended appreciation for Deputy Mayor of Addis Ababa and Leadership of the at large for successfully implementing plans set to make Addis Ababa Beautiful fitting its name “The New Flower”.
The factory indicates shows Ethiopia’s successful path towards food security recalling wheat production endeavors underway in lowland areas at 20, 000 hectares of land in a bid to realize self sufficiently in the sector.
The nation will maximize its food production capacity to 100, 000 hectares of land by the next farming season.
The increasing wheat production will be integrated with agro-processing scheme so as to add an impetus to the overall development journey of the country. Food security issue will be history after ten years, the premier stressed.
Ethiopia’s aspiration towards realization of self-sufficiency in wheat production will be realized within two years, Dr. Abiy said.
The Premier stated his confidence that the city administration will be introducing a new chapter in the transport sector with in less than a week.
International development partners have shown interests to join the bakery industry in the country, he added.
“There are noises screaming trying to stop Ethiopia’s Prosperity, but there is no a force that could stop Ethiopia’s journey towards prosperity.” the premier underlined.
The Sheger Baker built with an outlay of 900 Million Birr by MIDROC Ethiopias has a capacity of making 2 million loaves of bread a day in three shifts.
