Addis Ababa mayor lays wreath under the Ethiopian veterans’ memorial statue in RoK
Addis Ababa, August 29, 2023 (FBC) – Mayor of Addis Ababa city administration, Adanech Abiebie laid wreath under the memorial statue for the brave Ethiopian veterans in the city of Chuncheon, Republic of Korea.
“During our stay in the Korean city of Chuncheon, we commemorated our heroes by placing a wreath under the memorial statue for the brave Ethiopian veterans,” Mayor Adanech said via a post on her social media pages.
“Our forefathers selflessly went beyond themselves for world peace, freedom and dignity of mankind has made us proud!,” she added.
Recall that Mayor Adanech Abiebie and her delegation arrived in Chuncheon city, Republic of Korea on Monday to reaffirm relationship and renew the bilateral agreement between the two sister cities. Upon arrival in the ROK, the delegation was welcomed by Chuncheon City Mayor, Yook Dong-han, and his cabinet.
Both dignitaries held a discussion on improving the bilateral ties between the two cities and agreed to work together on issues related to urban development, smart cities, education and training, and land management.
It is learned that, Mayor Yook Dong-han and his delegation will travel to Addis Ababa at the invitation of the Ethiopian capital’s administration in order to develop intercultural ties, and mark the 19th anniversary of the sisterhood relationship between both cities.
Furthermore, teams of young people from Addis Ababa will also visit Chuncheon to exchange cultures and experiences.
