Addis Ababa initiates development of new urban strategy

Addis Ababa, August 14, 2016 (FBC) – The City Administration of Addis Ababa has officially commenced preparations for a new urban development strategy, as announced by Mayor Adanech Abiebie.

This strategy aims to create a comprehensive development roadmap that incorporates innovative perspectives to support the sustainable transformation of Addis Ababa. The Mayor emphasized the importance of leveraging the city’s considerable potential, identifying new opportunities, addressing emerging demands, and resolving existing challenges.

In a social media update, Mayor Abiebie noted that the new strategy would enhance the city administration’s ability to coordinate and expand current development efforts, which have received positive feedback from scientific institutions.

Additionally, the strategy is designed to establish a clear and unified vision that will facilitate the mobilization of resources necessary to address the city’s increasing needs while coordinating all developmental potentials for the advancement of the capital.
