Addis Ababa generates over 432mln Birr out of solid waste reuse, recycling
Addis Ababa, May 14, 2021 (FBC) – Addis Ababa Solid Waste Management Agency stated that the city has generated out of solid waste reuse and recycling works.
Solid Waste Reuse and Recycling Exhibition kicked off today at Minilik Square in Piassa area of the capital.
The Public Service Cluster Coordinator in the rank of Deputy Mayor, Jantirar Abay and the Municipal Sector Head Tiratu Beyene have launched the exhibition.
Officials indicated the city administration has offered new job opportunities to 3,088 youths and women who generated 36,280 ton of solid waste during the last nine months.
According to the officials, more than 30 ton of solid waste has been recycled and exported to various countries, and over 432 Million Birr has been secured from the export.
