Addis Ababa fires inflict over 7.5 mln Birr loss
Addis Ababa, April 9, 2021 (FBC) – Fires which broke out in several parts of Addis Ababa last night inflicted more than 7.5 Million Birr loss, city’s Fire and Disaster Risk Management Commission stated.
Public Relations Team Leader at the Commission, Gulilat Getaneh said the blaze which occurred last night affected areas located in Kaliti, Kolfe Keranio and Yeka Sub Cities.
The fire which erupted in Akaki Kalit Sub City affected 50 cattle pens and 7 households where 11 cattle killed in an accident.
A fire which flared up in Kolfe Keranio Sub City is said to have damaged a stockpile in a mosque’s premises and caused damaged to properties there.
Two of the fires rose from mishandlings in households while the other two were connected to electric accidents, the commission said.
