Addis Ababa City Administration lays cornerstone for BRT system

Addis Ababa, June 16, 2022 (FBC) – Addis Ababa City Administration is preparing to come up with a Bus Rapid Transit system. The BRT project is aimed to ensure safe, convenient and timely public mass transportation system in the capital.

According to Addis Ababa Mayor Office, the BRT system will have 15 corridors in metropolis of which cornerstone for the construction of General Winget – Jemmo Station B2 project has aleardy been laid by city’s officials.

The BRT system will be equipped with state of the art facilities such as survillence cameras and e-ticketing technologies. Ensuring safe transportation system and sooth traffic flow remains a priority for the city government.
