Addis Ababa-based embassies, missions extend Easter best wishes
Addis Ababa, May 4, 2024 (FBC) – Various embassies, missions of different countries, and multilateral organizations stationed in Addis Ababa have conveyed their Easter Holiday greetings to Ethiopian Christians celebrating the occasion today, on the 5th of May.
Note that Ethiopian Christians, both at home and abroad, are observing the Easter holiday through diverse religious ceremonies.
The diplomatic community’s messages of well-wishes were disseminated through social media posts since midweek.
Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Ethiopia Evgeny Terekhin, in his lengthy message of best wish, stated that the joy of this holiday is a starting point for new good deeds, help to those in need, unity for peace and harmony in society. It gives us hope for a better future and faith in the triumph of good.
Only together, based on common values, can we overcome all difficulties, come to happiness and prosperity. Ambassador of Djibouti to Ethiopia, Abdi Mahamoud Eybe also expressed his best wishes.
The Embassies of the U.S., Denmark, Israel, United Kingdom, Iran, Pakistan, Australia, Sweden, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, Burundi, Eritrea, among others have expressed best wishes to all Ethiopian Christians on the celebration of Easter.
Likewise, African Union, IGAD, Country Offices of UN Agencies, and other multilateral organizations have also sent their congratulatory messages.
In a nutshell, the diplomatic community wished a blessed and joyous Easter to Ethiopians.
