About 250 suspects arrested in connection with Oromia conflicts: Attorney General

Addis Ababa, December 20, 2019 (FBC) –The Attorney General announced the detention of 250 individuals on suspicion of having links on conflicts happened in some parts of Oromia regional state last October.

Zinabu Tunu, public relations director at the Attorney General office told journalists today that 16 suspects were also taken into custody for inciting conflict in universities.

He further said efforts are underway to recover public funds diverted to foreign countries by government officials.

According to him, his office had recovered over 50 million birr stolen funds during the past five months.
