Abba Gadaas and Haadha Siinqee promote peace and unity at Irrecha Festival in Bishoftu
Addis Ababa, October 6, 2024 (FBC) – The annual Irrecha festival took place at Hora Arsedi Lake in Bishoftu, Oromia Region, drawing hundreds of thousands of people, including Abbaa Gadaas and Haadha Siinqees.
As dawn broke, the leaders performed a traditional ritual, blessing the waters of Hora Arsedi, symbolizing purification and expressing gratitude to Waaqaa (God) for the past year’s blessings.
During the festivities, they delivered messages highlighting peace, reconciliation, and unity among the Oromo community and beyond. Thousands gathered at the lake, joyously participating in traditional songs and exchanging well-wishes for the future.
