AACCSA convenes 17th General Assembly, elects new leadership 

Addis Ababa, January 9, 2025 (FMC) – The Addis Ababa Chamber of Commerce and Sectoral Association (AACCSA) convened its 17th General Assembly today, with notable participation from city officials and business leaders in the capital.

During the opening address, Deputy Mayor Jantirar Abay emphasized the importance of strengthening collaboration between the city administration and the Addis Chamber to effectively tackle the challenges facing the business community and foster a dynamic commercial environment.

The assembly resulted in the election of a new president, vice president, and board members, who will serve a two-year term. The newly elected leaders will also join the board of the Addis Ababa Chamber of Commerce and Sectoral Association, recognized as the largest chamber in Ethiopia.

The assembly reviewed the performance report for the 2023/2024 fiscal year, alongside the annual audit report, both of which were approved by a majority vote.

In his inaugural speech, Abebe Gurmessa, the newly elected president of the Sectoral Association, highlighted the significant hurdles currently facing the manufacturing sector. He expressed the association’s commitment to collaboratively addressing these challenges and urged industrial members to work towards building a competitive manufacturing sector in Ethiopia.
